It's incredible how much easier it is to get up in the morning when the sun shines through the blinds. It rained the entire weekend and my mood was equally depressing. You would think we were still stuck in fall. I spent most of Sunday in sweat pants going through pictures on my laptop. Big mistake. It made me long for summer even more. Shorts, tanned skin, golden hair strands from the sun, ice cold drinks by the pool and hiking trips. Doing exhaustive research on new trails is definitely on my to-do list (the Adirondaks is the region I want to explore).
Speaking of to-do lists, I'm starting work shortly as you know and, as a result, I should make the most of the remaining days. Why is it I always make lists for the things I don't want to do and don't bother for the fun stuff?
My fun list:
Take a walk early in the morning and watch the sunrise
If the weather permits, go cross-country skiing in a local park (if you want to try but don't have the equipment, check out the park's rental services)
Make an elaborate breakfast at home on a weekday. Seriously, when's the next time I'll be able to do that? Fresh pressed orange juice, homemade oatmeal pancakes, blackberries and strawberries.
Sleep in, one last time
Spend the day walking downtown and visit my favorite shops. I have yet to visit the new Anthropologie (shame on me).
Do you have a fun list?
Today's motivation posters are made from pictures I took from different trips in warmer climes.. LE SIGH.
Hope you enjoy! xx
